the oil mod in my opinion is very important if you are going to ride hard. my motor came apart and it cost me 1500 bucks, to replace everything. so having it done would have been alot cheaper..... it doesnt happen to everyone.... i had 80+ hours on it and i did maint. after every time i rode it but i also ride pretty hard all the time. so its all up to you but i would never build a motor w/o it.

I agree....haven't heard of too many faliures on the 06s' but they haven't been out that long either. Definately a mod worth doing if you split the cases.

Seems to be popular size for the oil mod. My buddy has his case done by i forget who but when they installed a jet, they used the 89 mikuni. when i did it i used a mikiuni 87.5. the jet size is something close to .035 inches. but seeing as you asked what size drill, it would be aproximate to #60 (.0400) or #65 (.0350). this information is my own, i actually did some testing with 89, 87.5 and the 86 mikuni. i found that the 87.5 had a better spray pattern. i did not test the just the hole, for a couple of reasons, 1 if you have ever played with that small of a drill bit you would know how easy they are to break. i didnt want to spend time fishing for a broken bit, 2. a jet promotes a bit better pattern because of the nozzle design.

So to ultimately anwser your question - It is entirely my oppinion.
