Question on paddle tires?

I hate to do this, but I got to ask about paddles, especially from people who ride in Oregon with similar mods. I have read and read many threads on here about tires and I have it narrowed down, but still have questions. I am looking at 21-12-8 Extremes but not sure about paddles, 6, 7, or 8. I just don’t want to be under paddled or over paddled, and still have room to add mods. I ride Winchester and Sand Lake, and just an all around duner, but prefer wheelies and tree shots and don’t care about drags much. Right now I have 20-10-10 8 paddle Extremes, they do good, but seem to bog down a little on some tree shots. I have 2010 YFZ450X with DASA full exhaust, FCI, MSD, and 08 dirt bike cam, and soon will get the head ported, maybe ported TB. Thanks for any advice and sorry for bringing up another paddle thread.

my yfzr is 53hp,im an Oregon duner. I run 22"-8x8 7 paddle haulers. i ran them with it as a 3 mod too and they hook up just fine.

Yes 21 12 8 extreme for all around especially tree shots.

6 paddle is the hardest launching in 2nd gear with up to a built 450. If you want a bit extra hookup and room to grow ..... the 7 will support anything you ever plan to do on a stock lentgh swingarm. Slight bog in 2nd sometimes with stock gearing. But it will be perfect if you build it later. Good top speed....the 6 seems to Rev easier in top gears. I'd go 7. 8 isn't needed. You'll be slower if anything with 8. This is all with 21 12 8.

I just switched from 21x12x8x 7 paddle extremes to 21x12x8 6 paddle extremes, they ride just about the same. The 6 paddles are a slight bit easier to launch 2nd gear. I like the extremes for the Oregon dunes for the durability (tree roots, pavement), but people behind you will probably complain about the roost lol.

IMO with your mods right now and even a more built 450 with stock swinger.... 6 extremes can launch harder because of less bog. I had pretty much no bog with them. The 7s take just a bit less to wheelie because of the extra grip. 6s had no problem to wheelie.. but i did notice i need just a bit more throttle. Really the both wheelie just as easily, its just the 7s take a bit less throttle. There isnt a huge difference between the two. 4th and 5th would pull up easier i think with 6s. If your ever going to 480 or 501 513 etc, id get the 7s. If staying 450, 6s.
